Are you sure the contacts are in your Gmail account?
Go to http://www.google.com/contacts and log in there on a PC.
That should be the first step.

Hi all, I tried my moto-g last night it is the latest gen I think it
is fithed gen. to my surprise I had no contacts on it. I used to use
this anyway even if I sync with google it says last sync say to days
date but still no contacts have been imported. any help please I have
every thing selected in sync settings under accounts thanks in advance.
