In Windows Media Player, go into Options which you will find in the Tools 
menu. Presss CTRL+pagedown once to get to Rip Music. Tab until you get to 
the Rip CD When Inserted checkbox. Uncheck this and you should be able to 
play CDs without ripping them.

Please can someone tell me, how I can stop windows media player, copying
cd's to my hard drive, every time I load a cd. Thanks in advance for any
