Seems strange Cathery, as the disk drive appears to be recognized by explorer. Could it be a faulty disk? Does it happen with other floppies? Whenever I insert a disk and go to explore it in My Computer I get the message saying "Please insert a disk in drive a" as if I haven't inserted a disk, and the drive keeps making noises as if it's trying to read the disk but not being able to. I pushed the disk in firmly just as usual. Has anyone got any ideas what could have gone wrong? How can I go about trying to figure out what the problem is? I know nothing about how floppy drives work and am next to useless in understanding hardware in general so any idiot's guide type answers would be ok. At the same time I learn quickly, am good at tinkering am short of money so if I can sort out the problem myself that would be far preferable than having to send my precious baby away somewhere!
