Hi Adrian

Well if I knew the answer to that question, we'd all be laughing! (lol). It
must be something to do with Outlook as this is where people are reporting
the freezing and being kicked out. For me at least, that's where I am aware
of the problem.

Kind Regards,

Jackie Cairns

Hi Jacky

Well if it is outlook 2003, how comes it doesn't happen with word or excel,
just outlook? And if so, look at the number of us who would have to
up-grade, microsoft are laughing.

Adrien

Hi Terry

No, I think it's Outlook 2003 perhaps being too old to work with Windows 7.
I don't see why, but I am getting that feeling.

Jackie Cairns

I don't think its jaws 13, as its done it with me for some years now, using
11, 12and 13, but always with win 7. Can't remember if it ever did it with
xp.

Hi Amro

Yes, I too have had the message: "Outlook has stopped working ...". I can't
remember the rest, but you know the drill, it ain't going to behave, so you
have to reboot the machine.

I sense a pattern emerging here, with people using Windows 7 Home Premium,
JAWS Standard 13 and Outlook 2003. I wonder!

Same here. Outlook 2003 freezes on me very often giving the message (Outlook
has stopped working...) and most of the time silencing Jaws in the process.
Mind you, IE has started doing the same. It's terribly annoying to have to
reboot the machine every so often.
Sometimes I manage to get the speech back using the task manager or by
killing Jaws with Windows Insert F4 or, by managing to click the message
which says close the application with sighted help or by other clumsy
methods. My system is Windows 7 32bit, Outlook 2003, IE 9 with Jaws 13.
With IE it could be a Flash crash of some sort but I don't even remotely
have an idea why this is with Outlook.

Hi Mike and Eleanor

I have noticed, on the odd occasion, that my machine completely freezes when
using Outlook 2003. If I reply to an Email, for example, everything just
goes stone dead, JAWS disappears, and nothing happens. Sometimes I can just
press the on/off switch quickly and it will shut down properly.
But sometimes I have to force the PC off, and I don't like doing so.

I'm wondering if Office 2003 is getting a bit too old for Windows 7 Home
Premium 64 bit? Any thoughts?

It's only now and then that this happens, but as you have both raised
issues, I would add my own voice here.

Kind Regards,

Jackie Cairns

Eleanor,

Funny, my computer is hanging when using Microsoft Outlook 2003. When I
reply to an email for example, especially if they are not plain text, it
takes a few seconds to think about it.

Regards,

Mike

Subject: [access-uk] Problem with Computer Freezing for A Second at a Time

Hi
I have a problem developed only recently. I can be reading a word document
or an e-mail or even writing and the computer freezes for a second or two,
then all is well.
However this keeps happening. Now you could say maybe I have a problem with
my computer but it has started happening on another computer too. the only
thing I can think of is that I have started using MSE on both computers and
more or less at the same time. Might something be updating and causing this
freeze? I am wondering if I should remove MSE to see if it resolves the
problem.
