I've got 1.51 and 1.70 Doris.  Both give the same error.

Which version of CDEx are you using? There was a problem with a beta of CDEx a couple years ago but that has long since been rectified. Have you tried the version available from Whitestick? That one works fine for me.

What's puzzling me is, I've always had this message, and I've run the check.exe on my wnaspi32.dll and it says it's working properly. Has anyone else ever had this and if so, how did you solve?
