[access-uk] Power Quest Drive Image 7.0

Hi All
I recently purchased the above program to enable me to do back-ups on DVD's.
Something went wrong when I installed it and now when I try to remove it by
either the uninstall method of the actual program or by the Control Panel it
says a RTC file error has occurred and aborts the uninstall. I am not
permitted to re-install until I have removed the previous program.
A full comprehensive search for Drive Image and for Power Quest reveals
nothing on my system but Control Panel Add/Remove Program says it is there
and is 66 mb in size.
Can anyone tell me how to get myself out of this loop please. I was
wondering if running a registry cleaner would be my way forward. Something
I've never done and fills me with dread.
I'm running XP home.
