Hi
I think your advice of (give up) is totally wrong. If this advice was
followed for all time we (that is disabled people) would be living in
institutions instead of independently) Did you not watch the paralympics? I
bet they never gave up.
thanks

Hi. Posting to twitter may not be enough because a single tweet can be missed
by millions on the public timeline. If I were you just put it down to bad
experience and go somewhere where it’s more friendly and accepting of guide
dogs. Usually incidents like these get back to Guidedogs but to be honest with
you it’s a waste of time as fighting with the owners of a shop or restaurant
makes you out to be blind bitching and that isn’t your intention. I bet you
wouldn’t have had any issues with the restaurant if you walked in with your
cane. Something like this is a major turn off for me because I once considdered
getting a guidedog but even that brings it’s own set of challenges and
barriers. My frend who lives local to me can’t even take his dog into the local
shops as they all won’t let him in with one. For something that is suppose to
give one more independence! It’s just throwing more barriers in the way because
you have limited access to restaurants, taxies and other services. .

You just post a general tweet and include the Twitter name of the restaurant.

  Hi All
I went out for a meal tonight. New resteraunt. Had table booked but when I
got to the resteraunt with my friend, the propritor came to confidentally say
that 'no dogs are allowed'! I explained that it as a 'guide dog'! Still, no
dogs allowed! I explained that it would be against the law to turn me away!
Sorry, no dogs! I love dogs, I have them myself etc, she said but no dogs here!

I have the name of the resteraunt and looked it up on-line. See it is on
Twitter. Is there any way I can put on Twitter about this? or can I only Tweet
to my own group of friends/followers?

Unbelievable, this is London 2012! Interesting to read on their Twitter that
they congratulate the Greek Paralympic team but still do not likie a guide dog
in their resteraunt.

Now, I do not wish to start a dialogue about guide dog accessability, this is
more to explain and ask about Twitter and if I can give the resteraunt poor
press for the attitude to my guide dog. Maybe not to clutter up the list
people can respond off list to me at eleanorburke@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
