Jackie, would that be the old Liverpool films to remind you of how good they
used to be?smile

Well, Jackie, you will have a 30 day demo period after which You'll get a code
to use if you buy it -

Cheers Andy, you've sold it to me. I'll have another play and see how I get
on. I really only want it for my football DVDs so I can listen to them now and
then, and a couple of music titles too.

Jackie - the latest release of Audio Extractor works with Vista. I love it,
you can convert any of the available titles on the dvd to MP3, and you can save
them as one large file, or save them to their separate chapters, which I find
quite useful for a long movie, and finding certains bits at a later time. The
programme also lets you watch the dvd if you want to, and haven't got other dvd
software installed. And, once purchased, all upgrades are free!

Anyway, good luck with it if you have another go. One of the things I love
most about it is that I can put the mp3 files on to my N91, and take films and
shows with me along with books and music, when on the move -

      Hi Andy

I had a play with it some time ago, but either I was doing something
wrong, or it wasn't playing ball with me, but I don't think it extracted all
the tracks. Does it work on Vista?

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll perhaps go back to it again and see what
happens.

      Any suggestions very welcome guys.

Jackie - if no picture is required, then would you consider DVD audio
extractor?

        http://www.castudio.org/dvdaudioextractor/.

With this programme you can just rip the audio track [including any
with audio description] in to mp3, and play it on your favourite mp3 player, or
just listen to it on the PC, I do this all the time, and with cordless
headphones, it is great, just like listening to books!

        HTH -

        Andy

          Hi List

I wonder if anyone has thoughts or recommendations on portable DVD
players. I am looking for something pretty simple and basic to use for sport
DVDs that I have and would like to listen to. I'm not into films or fancy
angles etc. I just want to be able to plonk the portable beside me, rather
like listening to a radio, and then put it away when I've finished with it. I
know I could get a cheap player to put in the TV cabinet, but I want to access
it myself without having to ask the two patient men in my life to crouch down
and put them on for me. And it could be something I could lie and rest
listening to on its own.

I have had a good rake around at what appears to be available, but
there are literally dozens of them, ranging from ridiculous prices for fancy
extras, to some reasonable units. Has anyone got on with a portable, or could
recommend a certain make for its button layout and reasonable navigation?

          Many thanks in advance.

          Jackie
