The BBC already do this with some shows already on the radio. I use iTunes on a AppleMac to do this though alternatives on the PC do this equally well. TV podcasting/timeshifting is still experimental but probably will happen as technology matures and as more material becomes available where the BBC etc have negotiated the suitable rights for retransmission via this medium. This latter concern is rather more important than some users may think at the moment. Regards. Won't we one day be able to have an automatic downloadable podcast of our favourite show? The technology is out there, but I don't think BBC Radio heads allow for this at the moment, or should I say they just haven't gotten around to thinking about giving us the chance. Hopefully in the near future they will have brightened up to the idea so that we will be able to download our favourite program in 5 easy automatic downloads. I think it would be great to just go to my computer and find out that the latest Travelling Folk is completed its download and ready for listening. And if all this is possible, I'd also like to have an automatic downloadable podcast of the days TV listings. One could then choose which podcast to download, BBC1, ITV2 etc, and listen to it at our leasure. Perhaps though, this last idea might be better if it was offered by an independent provider such as the likes of the folks at digi guide. Perhaps the TV listings as read on VIP On Air could be offered as a downloadable podcast. That sure would save me a lot of time checking several different web pages.
