Eleanor, you have "group similar taskbar buttons" checked. Turn it off in the taskbar page of Taskbar and Start Menu Properties, accessed by pressing alt enter on anywhere but the desktop, including the start button or taskbar itself. Note when focused on the start button, press alt enter on the button, not just enter. Hope this helps.

Thanks Ted that is a brilliant idea. I must try it and for other applications also. What I mean is that if Outlook Express is minamised on the task bar and I have 3 e-mails open, perhaps one I am replying to and two others that I am reading, then what is happening is this. There is the number 3 to the right of the Outlook Express and if one left clicks with the mouse and moves ujp the screen each separate e-mail can be seen. Now I could have to move up to number 2 of 4. What I am sahing is that going from left to right across the lower part of the screen it is normally possible to have each separate e-mail or application minamised, going left to right rather than sitting on top of each other.
