1 February 2007 Hi Listers In Windows 98/98SE, Microsoft provide a very useful Utility called Phone Dialer made up of two small Files - dialer.exe and dialer.ini - which allows you to use your Modem with an appropriate Headset plugged directly into it as a 'normal' Telephone with Phone Dialer doing as it says allowing the Keyboard to dial the Number. I have reason to use this Facility on my newer PC which runs Windows XP (+ SP2) but this little Utility does not appear to be present. Is there such an Utility hidden away in Windows XP and, if so, how do I find it? If not, is it possible to copy a Copy of the two Files from the PC running Windows 98SE into the same Folder (Windows) on the XP PC and use the 'original Phone Dialer? Alternatively is there a Utility available which works with Windows XP - my need is for something which will work directly with my Dial Up Modum to make it a 'Telephone' not involving the Sound Card etc. Any advice very much appreciated.
