[access-uk] Re: Pen Friend Pack A? Pack B?

For labeling tinned items I use the plastic backed magnetic strip sold by the RNIB which I Braille onto. If I got a PenFriend I would try using small pieces of the magnetic tape and sticking PenFriend labels to that to make a permanent label reusable without any fuss. That's assuming all the house remember to take the label off the lid before throwing it away but that's a different problem entirely!

That's right, they're thin paper labels. I imagine the only way in the case of tins or packets to get subsequent uses from a label is to attatch it to a tag and then attatch that to the tin or packet. If you stick it directly onto the item that's it.

If you are using labels for disposable goods, like tins and freezer bags
you
can use pack a labels repeatedly if you simply scan the label you are
using
as you open the tin and then clear that label's voice tag on the pen.
Then, if you scan a new label and it comes up with a voice tag you know it
is still in use

You just have to be sure you clear the label everytime you use the bag/tin
etc

Barry,

I believe you will get varying sizes of label in each pack. A and b
refers
to the coding by which the Penfriend recognises the label itself. for
that
reason you cannot purchase two packs of pack A as they will be of no use
unless you have two penfriends.

at present there is no pack b, but if there were, you could only buy one
of
those for one Penfriend. In the future we may get pack c d e and 5 6 and
7,
But I will have filled my freezer long before then.

David

Hi folks,

I've sortive followed this and sortive not...

I'm confused as to why we even have two different types of packs unless
they
are just different sizes?

Can someone explain this, briefly in a nut shell if you will?

Thanks,
Barry.
