Hi Carl.

Indeed, it is an extremely simple device employing a simple concept.  Why
all this discussion about its operation and label packs I don't know
*smile*, I often find myself repeating myself to people who just don't get
the fact that this is nothing more than a simple, cost effective labelling
device with a couple of nice extras IE the mp3 player and voice recorder.
The only bar code scanning package with a food database that I know of is
developed by Freedom Scientific, costs over a thousand pounds and has to be
used in conjunction with a PackMait note taker device, altogether a clumsier
package not to mention hideously and for most prohibitively expensive.  If
I'm being honest, this device is going to tick the boxes for most people on
price and utility.
