hi all okay then say i go in to a place and i pay via an ipad. firstly i would
need speech on it secondly most of these places are very noisey also even for
me a very experienced touch screen user the hardest thing to do on these things
is type in something even for me it would take quite a long time to get all
this done thereby holding people up. also there are lots and lots of sighted
people who cannot use these touch screen devices as i said before most of us on
these lists are experts in this kind of situation but the majority of people
just cannot use these things. on the ios device to put in text can be done but
for a pin you have to click on numbers very fiddley and on the android setup
putting in words and numbers i find even harder yes it can be done so again
from the start one has to turn speech on with this device to get started to me
it's just so unfair expected a blind person to do this. another point is the
cost of teaching people to use these things. if one works one c
ould get some access to work but what about all the people without a job how
do they get the funding for the expensive teaching. for me the world is going
crazy.

Let me be clear. I am not saying that your own situation doesn't cause you
problems, it clearly does. But just because you have issues getting access
to cash, it doesn't mean that society has to go cash free. It's a dangerous
precedent to adopt, it leaves millions of people with very real issues if
that were to happen.
Of course you are entitled to your point of view, as is everyone. Faced
with the situation of entering my PIN into a touchscreen though, I would be
asking the proprietor for a work-around, and if that wasn't available, then
he or she would have to get me arrested for not paying! Of course I would
offer to wash the dishes, but then that would likely be construed as a
health and safety risk on their premises. It's all daft!

well I shop online, and there isn't a bank anywhere near anywhere I want to
go.
I dare say that it depends on how one stands as to how the argument stacks
up, personally with the aggravation getting hold of cash for those stone age
things that don't take modern payment methods, such as the cabs, causes me,
the cashless society is a truly wonderful idea. you should try going through
that sort of aggro before saying that it doesn't have any validity.

No, not at all. I go shopping, so the bank is close by if I want it. Your
argument to have a cashless society doesn't stack up, and I doubt it will

which if you then have to fork out extra for a cab to go and get it, then
mess around cuing to see someone at a bank to get it, in my view, rather

Me too. I'm not obsessive about cash and carrying loads of it about, but if
I knew I was going to the pub with people, or out for a meal, I sure as hell
would want enough on me to be able to pay.
Another instance is when you can be charged less for an item if you pay
cash. For example, someone might do work perfectly legitimately for you at
home, but they would give you something off it for cash-in-hand.

Don't know how easy this would be, sometimes I turn voice over off
with a double triple tap, this keeps screen curtain on and you can
press the buttons if you listen for the "clicks" working from the
bottom up you can go up the center; 0 8 5 2 and locate the side
