Subject: [access-uk] Parlamo Audio Description in cinemas

I've been asked to post the following. Please email ad@xxxxxxxxxxx for
more information.

Audio description in cinemas - new update

PARLAMO has developed a smartphone app that allows viewers to enjoy
films in cinemas in their own language. PARLAMO is now hoping to use the
same platform to deliver audio description.

The main benefit of the app is that you can attend any film, at any
screening and at any cinema without having to depend on the availability
of in-cinema audio description equipment.

TESTING: We are looking for blind and partially sighted volunteers who
own smartphones and are willing to provide feedback on the accessibility
changes that we plan to integrate into the PARLAMO app.

The following tasks will be involved in testing of the app:
1. Evaluation of current user interface elements
2. Provide recommendation and suggestions to make the user interface
elements accessible though use of position, voice labels and hints
3. Test and provide feedback and recommendations for each enhanced
accessible version as they are developed and refined

General group communications and feedback will be via email
ad@xxxxxxxxxxx

Once we have completed the enhanced version of PARLAMO, volunteers will
be invited to in-cinema testing events prior to the official release
currently planned for London and Norwich but can be expanded to other
locations for a larger volunteer group.

To register your interest please contact us via email at ad@xxxxxxxxxxx.

For those who may be interested in the current version of PARLAMO it can
be downloaded via the Apple App Store (search for "parlamo").
