Eleanor, of course, Bluetooth printers are by definition portable, therefore
they cost you an arm and a leg. If you don't need to carry it about with you,
then you're wasting your money.
Cheers

When I looked for bluetooth printers I appeared to have 2 main choices, those
that are multi-purpose and took up so much room on a desk and a lovely Cannon
portable one and it along with the Bluetooth dongle cost nearly four hundred
pounds!

Hi Carol

Parallel to USB converters are not that great to be honest, they certainly
didn't work when I wanted to use one on a PowerBraille display. I hope you
have more luck with your printer.

Generally speaking, all printers now seem to come with USB, and you can get
some using Bluetooth or which network. It's been a long time since I bought a
printer, (smile).

Kind Regards,

Jackie Cairns

Subject: [access-uk] PARALLEL TO USB CONVERTER?

Hi all,

Well, My old desktop has, at least for the moment, given up working and I need
to use my parallel printer. My laptop only has a USB option so, can I get a
converter at a reasonable price? If so, any details would be most welcome.

In addition, if I need to go for a new printer, as I have WiFi in the house,
should I consider a WiFi or USB connection printer? It would be good to have
details, please, of any models which you really like and are fully useable for
a totally blind person.

Thanks.
