Hi Alexander,

Try the Microsoft fix that was posted by Tim first and then, if it doesn't
work, try the steps below.

To make IE the default:

1. Open IE and go to the 'tools' menu and then 'internet options' menu;

2. In the Options dialog box shift tab once to the page tabs and right
cursor to 'Programs';

3. Tab to 'tell me if internet explorer is not the default web browser' and
make sure that this is checked;

4. Tab to 'set programs' and press the enter key;

5. In the dialog box that opens, tab to 'set your default programs' and
press enter;

6. In the dialog box that opens, tab twice to the programs list and cursor
down to 'Internet Explorer';

7. Tab to 'set this program as default' and press the enter key;

8. Tab to the 'OK' button and press teh enter key;

9. Close the window that is open;

10. Tab to the 'OK' button and press the enter key;

11. Close Internet Explorer and restart.

John.

Hi John, Mike and all,

Sorry to jump in on this thread, but I'm having similar problems to those
Mike is experiencing with some, but not all links.

I did have Google chrome installed very briefly, but have uninstalled it,
although I do have Firefox installed and wish to keep it.

Is there a way I can Keep Firefox installed but Make IE8 the default?

Alexander Shannon
