I'm not so sure it is automatically given an extension as it was in '98 but in xp I do the following to keep the file as a back up. From my in box I go to file menu, cursor down to export, arrow right and press enter. Now I cursor down to save as text file, second option and type in a name and location I can find. Something like addbook.txt for instance in a directory I can find. You do get the option to save various fields within the address book but I usually shift tab back to finish, and accept the default. Hope that helps. The dbx folders in outlook express are another story. Documents and settings etc Kind Regards David Dick ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike Cassidy" <mike.cassidy@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "Access-UK" <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, June 17, 2005 11:08 PM Subject: [access-uk] Outlook Express address book in Windows XP Hi, Please can someone tell me the extension of the exported file from Outlook Express.
