Hi MandyBoth Milestone and BookSense are very good machines in their own particularway. The Milestone is smaller, has fewer keys, and has very good speech with a superb speaker. But because it has fewer keys, there is more to remember when initially learning to use it. It does not yet support as many formats as BookSense, but I think that itmakes a much better music player than BookSense does. You can also add the Fame colour identifier to it, and the Speakout application supports the RFIDtagging system. As for BookSense, it is about the same size as the Plextalk Pocket. As said above, it supports more formats such as HTML, and has a replaceable batterythat the Milestone doesn't. It is a good unit, they both are but in different ways. RNIB sell both, so if you can get along to Judd Street, perhaps Paul, Mark or Madleen could help you. I can't help smiling at this thread because it was the very Email thatMartin dropped into my inbox when I was working for S and S that kicked off our romance that led me to live in Northern Ireland. He asked me off listgwhat the differences in the two units were. (smile). Eventually after many calls I was told that it was sent back to themanufacturers who do not repair once the unit is out of guarantee so that isthat, no more using the Plextalk so I am wondering whether to purchase something else as I am a talking book user and have to pay £50 per year unlike most people I talk to who do not have to pay themselves. I could just access the books on the computer or copy to something else - I have a tiny portable DAB with its own memory which I have copied some books to or the zenstone which is obviously too small in capacity. I now also own a Kindle but will this meet all of my reading needs? So what would people recommend I buy? I gave Brian my VictorStream anddon't want to buy another - how good is BookSense and how much does it cost?Mandy. -----Original Message----- From: Jackie Cairns Sent: Saturday, December 31, 2011 8:32 AM To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: PLEXTALK POCKET SD CAR QUESTION Hi IbrahimFirstly, these cards are too expensive yet to bother with buying. Secondly,I would doubt that at least the BookSense would work as Martin found hisstruggled with 32GB. It did some weird and annoying things, so he gave thecard to me which I have in my BrailleSense. I did take the play.com offer up recently and bought two 32GB cards for I think it was £17.99 each as they were SanDisk. If someone has tried a 64GB card, please let us know, though the price won'tdrop for a bit yet. I also want to know whether such a card would work with the book sense and similar SD card based players. All the best, Ibrahim. -----Original Message----- From: Jackie Cairns Sent: Friday, December 30, 2011 8:27 AM To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: PLEXTALK POCKET SD CAR QUESTION Hi Richard Up to 32GB.
