i've just tried this and its fantastic considering how it worked last time! all the menus read fine its like an updated version of office 2003! the only minor drawback is that with jaws, the sells don't read as you arrow through them in the spreadsheet app. you have to press the number 5 key on your numeric keypad to find out which sell you're on and then it reads fine. still, a vast improvement. i hardly deal with spreadsheets these days so not a major issue for me.

hi carol.

nope, as far as i know from comments i've read its just like using office 2003! it didn't seem resource intensive either when i've tried it in the past, though i've yet to try this new version...

Does it take up less resources than MS Office and does it have less functionality? Further, do we get those horrid ribbons?

Mo,

Yes, I installed this a bit earlier, and from what I have done so far, it's accessible, both menus and documents, and the accessibility is already enabled before you start it.

Very promising, at any rate.

the following has been posted to BCAB, i haven't tried it yet but
apparently its fully working.

Hi all
Want a free and open source productivity suite? Look no further than
Open Office. The latest version 4.1 is now accessible out of the box. No
Java or any other complex things to install and configure! It's quite
funny actually the Writer Word Processor program may remind you of Word
95 to 2003. Anyway go to
www.openoffice.org
and look for Apache Open Office.
