Mandy,
From your description of what you want from a scanner/OCR programme, I feel
sure that the Limited Edition of Omnipage, that comes bundled with many
scanners is all you need. I used this version for many years to read bills,
letters and the odd article. It was only when I needed to scan data into a
data base that I upgraded.
Keep reading the 'help' menu and asking questions, the LE version is quite
workable for the VI.

That was such a rude curt message: I copied it from a previous email. d

It might also help if you spelled it correctly.
There is only one l in Kurzweil.

I suggest you use Kurzweill as it's got a lot more features than omni page, plus it's a speaking software meaning that no screen reader needs to be running to fully use Kurzweill. Another advantage is that it comes
with a lot of reference tools, including dictionary/thesaurus, on-line encyclopaedias, and other tools. I hope this helps making your decision.

it isn't professional as it just came within our Cannonprinter so the
suggested solutions don't appear to work for us. Guesswe'll justfor scanning?have to manage as it is.
