Hi Andy
If you press the Menu button, which is further down the front of the LS14 on
the right side, you should be able to use the speech guidance to get you to
the various settings. Use the circular button at 9 and 3 o'clock to go
through the various menus, and 12 and 6 o'clock to take you into each menu.

I can now start to record, stop and play my recording, but what I'm
recording sounds very very quiet through my headphones.
I cannot find the headphone or speaker volume on this device. I take it
that it's got one?

With the LS14 facing you, find three round buttons that go across the unit.
The Record button is the one furthest to the right.

I've just purchased a second hand Olympus LS14 but cannot find the Record
Button.
I've got Neal Ewares Podcast on this particular device, but Neal has not
made it clear as to where the record button is.
Anyone got one of these wee devices and can set me straight?
