Hi Clive P, I'll try that, but quite frankly it sounds like an amazingly lengthy and complex ste of instructions - a lot of work for a basic function. I'll have to Braille out your instructions and learn them by rote. Hello Clive L, Let me come to your rescue. I have one of these little marvels and will walk you through the steps for erasing files. First of all, make sure you are on the file you wish to erase by playing a few seconds of it. Press the centre button of the four arrow buttons. Now feel for the indented button which is the left one of the two buttons below the circle of buttons. Press it once. You will hear two beeps and "file erase mode" will be spoken. You are highlighted on cancel, so press up arrow once to erase a single file. You will hear "erase one file" spoken. if you arrow up again you will hear "erasing all files in the folder" spoken. Arrow down once and you will hear the spoken prompt for erasing one file. Press the centre button and you will hear two beeps. Now arrow up once and you will hear "start erase" spoken. Now press the centre button and you will hear two beeps followed by "erase finished" spoken. You can also erase user-created folders. This is useful if you have copied music albums to the music folder and wish to remove them quickly without erasing the files first. I hope the above is helpful. If you have any further questions please get in touch off-list. Best wishes, Clive P
