My first thoughts on this is too many applications installed on an
under-gunned system. Have you checked the applications that log on when you
start-up? Go to Start/Run and enter msconfig. Tab to Startup and check the need
for each entry ticked.

While I cannot answer Barbra's question, when I try to open Word in Office
2007 I have to wait some time until it is configured. This happens every
single time I open it. What should I do about it?

I also have problems when I try to Open Outlook in Office 2007 and it wants
me to start entering all my passwords etc. Any help on that too please?

I am using Office 2007, Windows XP and JAWS 9.

Whenever I open a new Word document and start typing, JAWS starts reading
measurements from the top and left margins. If I try to arrow through the
document or backspace text, all I get are these measurements. Is there a
setting to stop JAWS reading this?
