Hi Andy,

Apologies to Barry as I know he has forbidden this thread, and I accept a
caution for it. But I couldn't help laughing when you said you would have
to have an eye test when you are totally blind. Just to lighten things up a
bit after what has been a gloomy morning for me regarding my health, I
would, in your shoes, take out both my artificial eyes and ask what they
thought of those for size! (just couldn't resist a laugh).

Sorry Barry!!

Kind Regards,

Jackie Cairns

...And my experience was that they wanted proof of my blindness, so wrote to
my hospital, where I never attend cos I'm totally blind, and have no need of
the hospital. I chased it up and was told I'll need an eye test! cos I don't
have a BD8 or CVI [where do you get them from anyway?]

I was told a decision would be made next week regarding this, and that I'd
eventually get an appointment with an ophthalmologist to confirm what I say
is true about my condition.

So much of this proof thing is about box ticking, it's obvious my condition
will never change, and therefore having been awarded lower rate mobility cos
of blindness, moving to higher rate for me, should be straightforward, but
as far as they are concerned, something miraculous could have happened to
change my condition, and it's up to me to prove otherwise.

How much does that cost the tax payer! -

Andy
