I thought that is what RNIB would do with the bookstream bookclub software, that was streaming, but it used the daisy format. Why on earth could they not have added functionality to that? Daisy works, period. -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Steve Nutt Sent: 16 December 2014 15:23 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: OVERDRIVE FIRST IMPRESSIONS Hi Ian, As is Audible. I don't think I will be renewing my Overdrive subscription when it runs out. No Daisy as Jackie says, very low bitrate files, poor compression means poor sound quality, I don't think it is well thought out at all. Other countrie in Europe are adopting online Daisy with delivery direct to things like the Stream and this should be possible here. My impression is that it is over fussy, cluttered and generally rather counter-intuitive. If you compare searching for and borrowing a book with, for instance, buying a book from the Amazon Kindle site, the latter is much more straightforward and easy to do.
