I thought that is what RNIB would do with the bookstream bookclub software, 
that was streaming, but it used the daisy format.  Why on earth could they not 
have added functionality to that?  Daisy works, period.

Hi Ian,

 

As is Audible.  I don't think I will be renewing my Overdrive subscription when 
it runs out.  No Daisy as Jackie says, very low bitrate files, poor compression 
means poor sound quality, I don't think it is well thought out at all.

 

Other countrie in Europe are adopting online Daisy with delivery direct to 
things like the Stream and this should be possible here.

At last I’ve had the time and opportunity to look at the Overdrive site 
although I have not yet borrowed any books.  My impression is that it is over 
fussy, cluttered and generally rather counter-intuitive. If you compare 
searching for and borrowing a book with, for instance, buying a book from the 
Amazon Kindle site, the latter is much more straightforward and easy to do.
