Hi Stuart, There doesn't appear to be a voltage selector on this particular transformer. The cable doesn't feel overly loose in the machine, nor do the cables going into the brick. The battery appears to charge to about 94%, which I suppose is normal after around 3.5 years, though that percentage does seem to drop remarkably quickly. Does the cable plugged into the laptop feel well seated or loose ? Does the battery charge fully after its drained ? Take the battery out. Plug it back in and see if it runs properly on mains power with no battery. If so you need a new battery. The laptop won't run off power or charge when it is plugged in and switched on. The status indicator in the system tray gives the percentage of battery left, afterw which it says "plugged in, not charging" rather than "AC power" which I think is what it used to say. This means that even though it is plugged in, the battery runs down until it's drained, then the laptop switches off. The battery will then charge though. I suspect something is faulty, but don't know whether it's the powerpack, battery or socket. Has anyone seen anything like this before? Thanks, Ed
