Hi DavidI actually have a 2 litre bottle of that which I use on my hearing aids but never thought of it to be truthful. Have now taken the advice of Epson support and run the clean utility a few times and it's solved the problem. So you were right but with a different method.
Incidentally those small pieces of lint the medics use to wipe your arm before an injection are also Isopropyl and are fantastic for wiping clean small areas. The stuff evaporates ways without leaving any traces so is perfect for cleaning jobs.

Roger: You could try cleaning the jets with isopropyl alcohol - I think it isn't called that now! Some old fashioned pharmacies will be able to order it for you. Very slight improvement but ink was still in the area again. Tried yet another cartridge and no improvement at all.I have an old black and white photo of the guv'ner I once printed hanging onthe study wall so I found that in the photo archive and re-printed it. Againit has a reddish tint which it didn't have originally. So I think it may well be the printer but short of chucking it in the bath and scrubbing itwith a bass broom I'm not sure where to go forward now. Ideas will be mostgratefully accepted. I have started getting a distinctive reddish tint to photographs printed on my Win XP machine using either Serif Photosmart or MGI. It's not my camera because it's happening on photos sent via email from either of my two sons with their cameras both the digitals and the mobile phones. I assume it must be the software or the video card perhaps, or something I'm not aware of. As this is not an IT access item maybe a reply, if anyone has one, would be better to my private email address which follows after my signature. Many thanks for any help, it's most appreciated.
