The edit key is the Talks key on most phones. However, if you press it
twice, it will open a special menu, only available in certain text fields,
where you can manage your predictive text settings, switch to alpha/number
mode, change the writing language, and, if a selection exists, cut or copy
the selection onto the clipboard. If the clipboard contains text or numbers,
a paste option will also be visible. So, as you can see, there's some
flexibility when using the edit key. The edit key is also used for text
selection. To do this, at the second press hold it down, use your arrow keys
to select the text, press soft key 1 to copy it to the clipboard. To cut it,
let go of the edit key, press it again twice, this time not holding it on the second press, then select cut from the menu. To paste your selection, press the edit key twice, again not holding it at the second press, and select paste from the menu. Hope this all helps.

Hi Eleanor. I've got it working now thanks to your and Chris's advice. Both
methods work. Can you tell me what else the edit key can do?

Hi I have the latest firmware on my N95 8GB. When I'm filling in a form
or writing a text message there doesn't seem to be an option to enter
numbers directly. This option is usually under the hash key and there are
multiple of other options such as predictive text or standard lower case or
all capitals. Normally the number entry option would be found here but there
doesn't appear to be such an option on my phone. Is this a firmware bug or
has the number entry option been assigned to another key command.
