exactly, so they don't pay for any access tech for us, which is what I
already said.

As I think I told you sometime ago.

1. YOU need first to ask for an assessment.

2. You need to show you have a need for the equipment.
So it's not a case of what a person wants,
But more case of what they need, and why they need it.

A council is far more likely to agree to funding
If one can show that without the kit one is at risk.

So for example if you need to call for a plumber, or doctor,
Do you really need a laptop and screen reader?

I would disagree, as from my experience, it is just about impossible to get
councils to cough up for any sort of access tech.

Hi Jackie
The problem about high cost of equipment is that
Most kit is funded by either ATW or councils. So companies may
well feel they can Charge whatever, as end of day state pays
in most cases.

Hi John

In today's climate, these note-takers are way too expensive given all the
unwanted bells and whistles they have. I do like my BrailleSense, and use
it for reading and making notes, and also use the Twitter client. But you
can't keep replacing them with the enormous cost involved unfortunately. I
am sure the U2 Mini is nice though.

Kind regards,
