I don't know how large your Notepad file is but there is a limit to the file
size it is supposed to work with, which I suppose is implied in its name.
Even then the limit is pretty big so it would have to be a really large file.
This limit varies according to what system you are on.

The common workaround for opening large files that Notepad struggles with is to
either reduce the size of the document you are working with by splitting it into
parts or to open the file in another editor.
The normal recommended alternative is WordPad. Just bring up the context menu on
the file in question and select open with and then select WordPad from the
available alternatives.
On my system WordPad loads almost as quickly as Notepad.
You could try this and see if WordPad supports your larger file more than
Notepad.

Hi all,
Could someone please help me with this problem.
I have a very large file in Notepad, and add to it every day.
Today I have found that my entries for today have not appeared.
However, when I press Restore, all is ok.
However, when I open that file again, the entries for today are again not
showing up.
I guess I wish to tell Notepad to open this file in the restored state.
Any help, as I say, would be appreciated.
