Hi all.

My 16 month old PC World computer's on-board anti-virus Norton is due to run out this week and I'm getting regular reminders to upgrade. If I upgrade, I'll not have a hard copy of the program and it will cost me about £40. I could visit PC World and purchase a hard copy. However, although it appears to be working fine at the moment and not causing me any concerns, I have always disliked this program and found it very difficult to disable. I am hoping to upgrade my computer in a month or so and would prefer an alternative anti-virus program.

So if I disarm Norton at boot-up, what do list members recommend as an alternative? My situation is further complicated because I am attached to a Bellkin, I think, wireless router which has it's own anti-virus protection.

So if I disarm Norton, can I replace it with a free package like AVG until I get my new computer?

Best wishes

Andy
