Hi Andy. I'm very sorry, I don't have experience with Sennheiser headphones as I've always thought their best models or at least models with similar specifications to the NS1000's to be at least twice the price of the goldring offering. The Goldring offering is designed for portable applications as in mp3 players and other portable products, but I cant see why they wouldn't do just as well in a home environment. I love them, I use them on a daily basis. They pack quite a punch with deep base response, and have very good mids and highs reproduction. I'm not an audiophile, in fact I've castigated pairs of headphones that cost three or four times the price in the past, much to the disappointment of HiFi store owners *smile*, so for me, it all boils down to preference rather than price. If you can get a pair on your head and try them, you'll be the best judge as to whether they're right for you. All the best and sorry for the ambiguous response but I'd rather be honest than have you disappointed with your new purchase. Take care and Merry Christmas. ----- Original Message ----- From: ANDY COLLINS To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, December 20, 2010 10:58 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Noise cancelling earphones Hi Ibrahim - From observing your sales on the recycle-it list, I feel you have quite a bit of experience with different makes of headphones. I'm interested in these Goldring rs1000. I want to use them both for music, and TV. I currently use the Sennheiser 340 I think they are, these are the cordless ones that Tapesense were selling. Are you familiar with them, if so, can you say how they compare with the Goldring ones? I know I'd have to buy an extention cable for the Goldring pair in order to reach my TV. Also, do the Goldring ones pack a punch, and have strong high end sound, my hearing loss is in the top end, so I like to find headphones that offer extra power and detail in those frequencies. Be good to hear your thoughts or experience if any. Thanks - Andy ----- Original Message ----- From: Ibrahim Gucukoglu To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, December 20, 2010 7:11 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Noise cancelling earphones Hi. Yes, I own a set of these, they are over the head design with large padded ear cups, but very comfortable to wear over long durations. Read the reviews, check out the specs on both play.com and goldring.co.uk, you can decide for yourself if they'll do you. Either way, 50 quid is a small investment to make and if they don't meet the high standards you set yourself, you can always return them to play for a full refund. All the best, Ibrahim. ----- Original Message ----- From: terry To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, December 20, 2010 6:56 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Noise cancelling earphones Hi #do you have a pair of those earphones? Do they go over the head? Do you know how big the ear pieces are. Thanks for any further help. If your not looking to spend a fortune but you want good sound, the Goldring NS1000 over ear headphones are perfect. They cost £49.99 from play.com, usually £150 and if you read the reviews, they speak for themselves, something like 98 percent positive and that's from dozens of reviewers. All the best, Ibrahim. ----- Original Message ----- From: Deon van Wyk To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, December 20, 2010 10:34 AM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Noise cancelling earphones Hi Terry QuietComfort® 15 Acoustic Noise Cancelling® headphones from Bose Around ear and on ear models. Pricy, very, but excellent. Deon At 06:26 20/12/2010, you wrote: Hi all My USB headphones have just given up the ghost, so I thought I'd treat myself to some new ones. I was thinking of buying some noise cancelling earphones. I was hoping that someone may have a good recommendation for me. I would prefer the in-ear type. I'm not looking at the cheaper end, and will pay probably around the £100 for a decent pair. Are there any in-ear headphones that are wireless? I use jaws, so would like obviously a quality sound, and also something that you can crank up with excellent music quality. thanks for any thoughts. terry This message has been processed by Firetrust Benign.
