Dear NTNM subscriber

National Talking Newspapers and Magazines (NTNM) officially merged with
the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) Group in July 2013.
Since the merger, we have been working to develop technology and improve
access for blind and partially sighted people to national newspapers and
magazines. In particular we have been developing new ways to create and
present electronic text newspapers and magazines for download.

One specific goal has been to reproduce accessible versions of
newspapers including any supplements on the day of publication in
readily accessible formats. The newspapers and their supplements have
been produced and presented in a new way, so that they are much more
akin to the printed version - what appears on page one in the print,
will be the same as page one of the electronic edition. Each heading is
the title of the article as it appears in the print edition. This should
allow for better social interaction with family and colleagues who are
reading the print edition of the same newspaper.

Following a trial with over 30 current subscribers, we are now moving to
these new offerings. As from 1 April 2014, electronic newspapers and
magazines will be made available exclusively online in a range of
electronic and audio formats. This means that subscribers who have,
until now, been receiving newspapers and magazines via email will need
to access them through the website.

We realise that this will be new to some of you, and therefore, we have
produced a Quick Start User Guide to help get you started. The guide is
attached to this email, and provides you with instructions on how to
access the newspapers and magazines, contains details of the formats
available and where to get additional support should you require it.

You do not need to change your subscription, and you will be able to
login to the new website using your current user name and password. To
access the website, please use the following link, or copy and paste it
into your web browser: http://rnibnass.cloudapp.net/newspapers

We hope that you will find the new formats useful, although we recognise
that it may take a little time to get used to some of them. Therefore we
will endeavour to support you as much as possible through this
transition to a new way of accessing your newspapers and magazines.
Should you need help, please contact our Technology Information Service
by calling 020 7391 2037 or email ict@xxxxxxxxxxx.

This is just the beginning of the improvements we are working on in
order to provide you with a sustainable service that can develop to the
changing needs of people and take advantage of new technological
advances as they come along. Over the next few months, you will find new
options being introduced and adaptations being made in response to your
feedback. If you would like to provide us with feedback, please email
rnibsolutions@xxxxxxxxxxx.

On day one of the new service more than 90% of NTNM publications are
available and we are working hard to add further titles as soon as
possible. One additional thing to note for those who have been using the
SpeakOn software when accessing publications with a .DOC extension, is
that SpeakOn will not be available at this point (please read Quick
Start Guide for more information on the available formats). In the
coming weeks, we are reviewing this and other aspects of the service,
and we shall be making improvements to the structure of information
presentation in order to enhance your ease of use.

This is part of a number of changes we want to deliver to our customers
over the next few months. These include the launch on 1st April 2014 of
an improved RNIB website and new online shop. We shall also be launching
a digital library service soon in collaboration with a leading American
technology provider. This will allow customers to download books as and
when they wish to read them. We will also be significantly increasing
the number of books available from our library.

Thank you for your custom and we look forward to working with you in the
months ahead as we bring ever more choices and content to you.
