Good points, Benjamin.

I recall phaffing around for a couple of hours with a laptop
and a set of speakers, when my engineer asked what I was up
to.

Imagine my response when he picked up one of the speakers,
and suggested I put batteries in it?

But it worked after that.

George.

I'm confused. Where are the speakers the computer is
supposed to use
when you haven't got the headphones plugged in? Do you
unplug them to
plugin the headphones? This is probably obvious, but there
is often a
on/off switch on the speakers themselves which you may need
to turn on.
Also if the speakers have a subwoofer it might have its own
power
supply.

Hope that helps.
