what disks do you have? if you have a windows xp disk try inserting this. if you have a media centre disk labeled disk 1 then try inserting this. I have had a problem where I have installed windows media centre and been asked to insert the second disk and then asked to install the service pack disk. This really means install the first disk again. I recently purchased an xp Media Center computer which was shipped with XP Home to get me started. My wife attempted to install the Quick Install Media Center package for me today. However, half way through the installation, I was advised that impportant files were missing and advised to install the Service Pack, from a disk. I chose not to leave the installation but rather, continue, planning to get the service pack afterwards. The installation continued then asked again for files relating to the service pack. I don't have a service pack disk. The computer then asked for my XP home Os and because I don't have that either, I continued. My new computer now boots up to a point where it asks me for the Service Pack again, and remains there All I can think of is to restore the computer back a couple of days, but it will not allow me. It's wanting either the Service Pack or the XP Operating system, neither of which I have. To save me a couple of quid getting everything set up, I was wondering if perhaps there was anythinghthat I can do? Best wishes. Andy. I've turned the computer off and intent to take it on Monday to the computer shop along with all it's disks. This will cost me a couple of quid, but before I do so, is there any way in which I can re-boot and Restore the computer back a day or so? If I could manage to do this then I could download the SP and then upgrade to to the Media Center OS ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq __________ NOD32 2108 (20070312) Information __________ This message was checked by NOD32 antivirus system. http://www.eset.com ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
