Steve and Barry, I agree with many of your points and definitely feel that it is polite, and indeed desirable, to get the permission of the list owner or moderator before advertising any list. Like all things, common sense is advisable. We don't want to end up with lists about lists about lists. The BookSense has its own list, because some very technical issues can be discussed there, that could get off topic for this list. There is not much technical about Twitter. But I do take your point in one way, however, you could end up with so many list that the experts you talk about, won't have time to populate them all. If I was interested in twitter, or any other access technology or computer related issue, the first thing I would do would be to go onto Whitestick or something similar and see if I could find a twitter list for the blind. If I could not, then I might well ask on this list. I notice that the more computer savvy members of this list are very much against lists for each subject, probably because they themselves do not need to use them, being confident in their own abilities to sort out any problems they may have. I feel it should be pointed out that some of us are not experts, we just get along as best we can, asking for help as and when we need to. For people such as me, such lists are a great help. Most of the items made specifically for the visually impaired have their own list, in fact Steve runs one of them himself. So, what I am really saying is that lists are fine for those who need them. Others can just choose not to join. Finally, if there is any place where a list relating to technical issues for the fisually impaired or equipment connected with visual impairment could be advertised, then surely it is this list. Sadly I had very little response to my Facebook query. This was disappointing indeed. One person suggested if I would tab around I would find out what was on the page. I had hoped that perhaps there would have been a facebook user on the list who could actually inform me of the layout of a page as I know I can tab around. that was somewhat missing the point of my question. I would have hoped then to go on to further questions. Of course if you feel that there any members of the list who might assist me I can re-post my questions again.
