Hi,

I installed this screen reader and although it did run, it was a strange
experience. I thought I'd uninstall it and install it later when I had a
little more time to evaluate it, but couldn't get rid of the voice on
startup, finally resorted to system restore to get rid of the voice at
logon.

John.

Hi. I've ran this screenreader and haven't had any issues with it. They
don't seem to have their own TTS! For example Realspeak or Eloquence. The
Microsoft Anna voice is difficult to understand at times. There is no option
to use Sapi 4 or any other speech engine.

Hi Ari,
I tried out this program and it crashes on startup. The installation
appeared to go ok. Also the link to documents on their web site cannot find
the page!
I found the help.rtf file in their installation folder under
c:\users\username\appdata\local\opti-guide\help.rtf
This is a very comprehensive document and looks very impressive.
It claims compatibility with Vista and win7.
But not on my machine!
It stops working on the instant of opening.
Regards
Aedan.

Subject: [access-uk] New Screen reader?

Hi everyone
Since I'm crossposting, may I also add to my friends in America that I hope
you are all keeping safe and doing ok with the hurricane.
Now my question is, I'm curious, but I never knew about this apparrently new
screen reader until hearing about it on another list yesterday. Have I been
out of the loop, how long has this existed? Has anyone heard of this
product? Could this be competition for jaws etc, especially if it might be
developed further (the site doesn't make this point clear). Is it good?

Thanks
Ari
