Hi Caroline,

It really depends on how much you want to scan. If you want to scan in fair
volume, then the Opticbook is the fastest, beating all the Epsons I have
tested.

All the best

Thank you to everyone for the scanner recommendations. This has certainly
helped me to narrow down the list of possibilities from the overwhelming
choice on the FS scanner page.

There seem to be several current models of the Epson scanner, the V100, V200
and V350. I will have to investigate to see what the differences are. The
Plustek does seem to be an interesting, although much more substantial,
alternative though.

Thanks again,

Caroline.

the plustek Optibook is also a damn good scanner as well, but I was thinking
of a direct replacement for the 1660 which is not book edge. Still, if you
do want to scan books then the Plustek Optibook 3600 is definitely the one
to go for.

I totally endorse Graham's recommendation. It's very good.
