On the other hand, Braille needs all the boost it can get. Personally I wouldn't read Harry Potter in any form. However, it is a bit much when we are always going on about wanting books at the same time as everyone else and then to carp when some effort is made towards allowing this to happen.

Hi all

this is excellent news, however like others i think they should have concentrated on publishing an audio version first as this is accessible to a lot more visually impaired people. As we all know there are lots of visually impaired people out there who are not braillists, or who like me even as a compitent braille reader would never choose to read a book in this format. Its way too bulky for my liking.

Slightly old news, but for anyone who hasn't seen it yet:

Congratulations to RNIB and Bloomsbury. Let's hope that we get more initiatives like this, embracing a wider range of formats, in the future.
