Well I personally think you can't beat British English Eloquence. I know it sounds a bit weird to begin with, but it's very clear and accurate and I can imagine myself listening to audio files made using it.

The problem with Real Speak, A T & T, rhetorical etc is that they were never really designed to be used as reading tools, they were designed for corporate telephony appplications and so have that 'I am your best friend here to help you' quality about them. When you read a book using something like Eloquence or Doubletalk, you get used to the voice and as people have already said, you can then bring your own interpretation to the text.
