NVDA may work. You can download the 2009.1 version from
www.nvda-project.org.

Hi folks, does anyone know if any of the free or budget screenreaders work
with the current version of iTunes? I want to do some bits on my daughter's
iPhone and I'm still on V7 of Jaws which doesn't want to play.

ATB,
Barry G

        Hi,

Trust that I am not being disengenuous here but is Steve not a
reseller of another screenreader product?

I would use NVDA as a backup like when I dropped my laptop the other
day and Jaws for some reason decided to revert to 40 min mode then that NVDA
came in okay.

Don't think that it is in any way a replacement for Jaws or say
WindowEyes but surely they deserve a chance!

        Tony

Sorry Steve. It's just I think NVDA is very very good for
what it can do and
I can see people switching to it in the foremost of time,
particularly if
they can no longer afford the commercial offerings.

                Hi Chris,

Now you are being silly <Smile>. I downloaded it this
morning, deleted the
old version and tried it again. Still crashes within Outlook
2003 and 2007.
In fact, it crashes Outlook itself. Horrible program it is.

                All the best

                Steve

Please please try it again. Perhaps you are using an older
version. I cannot
prove this though. Mind you we are all different <smiles>.

                Hi chris,

I don't enjoy. It still can't access messages in Outlook
2007. If you start
reading down, it crashes Outlook. It may be open source, but
it is the most
unstable screen reader I have seen for some apps.

                All the best
