Carol, I've had MSE on board for about a year, and must say I've had no trouble with malware. I sometimes cross-check with Superantispyware or Malwarebytes, and they almost always have nothing to do. I am pretty cautious in the sites I visit, and have the Web Of Trust add-on in Firefox, which warns if a site has a bad reputation. I'm sure that's quite enough security unless I'm so important someone's determined to get me, which I somehow doubt. Richard, I have just gone through the same situation. On the recommendation of a few folk on list, I took the plunge and didn't renew my Eset subscription, since I decided it was going to cost quite a lot for three computers and I wasn't sure if I really wanted to do that. On this basis, because once I'd opted into Eset again then I was there for the duration of the subscription, I decided to try MSE and have been very surprised at how well it's running on my older desktop. As for its accuracy in finding nasties, I wouldn't like to say at this stage, and indeed would welcome any knowledgeable contributions on that one; but I've decided it's for me and for now and I can go back to Eset if I decide to do so. A word of caution: Be sure to uninstall well all traces of Eset that you can possibly do, should you decide to go this route and this should help in a smooth trancision. -- Carol P ---- Original Message ---- From: Richard Godfrey-McKay To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, December 13, 2011 11:41 AM Subject: [access-uk] NOD32 RENEWAL - YES OR MSE? > I've just had the Nod32 renewal notice, and wonder if > there is any reason why I should buy this rather than use > MSE? > Thoughts welcome, please. > Richard > > Richard Godfrey-McKay > Telephone: 01738-445 880 > Mobile: 07791 452 593 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------- Orange vous informe que cet e-mail a été contrôlé par l'anti-virus mail.
