Yep, thanks. We'll go the same route.

Hi Carol,

We had an aerial done by a professional installer, and it cost us 70
quid.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, Steve.

We're going to go that route for a starter, anyway, as it's going to be
by far the easiest and, of course, the plus is that we can also record
to the HD.

Anyone got good suggestions about aereals - where from, what to get and
roughly how much we should expect to pay?

Hi All,

I am considering the merits and drawbacks of the Nebula DigiTV card
and/or the set top box recommended by the RNIB.

As far as I know, the NetGem box hasn't been significantly upgraded,
since it came out.

I know a number of you have the set top box and would just like to ask
for a description of its size and whether or not you need to use a
handset.

With regard to the TV card, this comes as PCI or USB2 and I am wondering
which of these is the fastest and likely to be the best buy, as I could
have either. Is anyone out there using the NEBULA card? I shall be
particularly interested to know how you find the software. I haven't
yet checked this, but it looks as though the software from NEBULA is
upgradeable. Can anyone confirm that, please?

I have used both the USB and PCI versions. The PCI version is the
fastest, because the PCI bus is the fastest, but you won't in reality
notice the difference. The other thing to bear in mind is that the USB
version needs a separate power socket, whereas the PCI one is
self-powered by the PC. So if wiring is an issue for you, which it
sounds like it is, then the PCI one is the one to go for. And of
course, the software is upgradable, and you can even run public beta
versions every so often. So all in all, I think if you do have access
to a computer, as you obviously do, then it is miles better than the
NetGem, particularly as you can record programmes to your hard disk to,
and have access to the EPG (Electronic Programme Guide).

Hope this helps.
