Hi Andy,

When using imap your email client stays in complete sync with your mail
server rather than your messages getting downloaded to your computer. That's
the different between imap and pop3 and why it's a lot better and more
organised than pop3. So, what you see on the server you exactly see on all
your local machines provides they are set up to use imap. e.g. when you
delete a message on one of your computers it gets deleted from the server
and your other computers. When you mark a message red on the server it get
marked red on all your computers and so on.

Please note, you still can read your emails while off line. The syncing
happens next time you are online.

So yes, set up your other computers, notepads and smart phones to use imap
and they all will be in complete harmony with the server and with each other
and they will live happily together ever after!

HTH,
Amro

Hi Steve - No errors now. I have a new inbox where the imap account
downloads to. I think I'm going to have to change from pop3 on my Mac as
well as on the Windows machine, to stop mail sitting on the server until
downloaded to the imap account -
