Facinating Andrew, and please keep your comments coming to the list. You might give us some pointers to what you think of the bundled voices for starters, although I know you can opt to upgrade to better sounding voices. Once you've got the Voice Over a bit more sorted, you might, further down the line give us some idea of whether the speech recognition side of things in O SX works at all with Voice Over. If it did, or will, eventually, then that's one hell of a price advantage over current Windows options working with screen readers. One final question, how much noise does the Mini make? I've seen one in a local store but there was way too much shop noise gauge accurately how intrusive or not the box noise might be. Looking forward to your findings. When I started the system, it gave me a short | tutorial on the Voice Over package, and its keyboard shortcuts. I | think the main thing is not go go into this with the expectation that | you will be hand fed the OS in a Windows fashion, as the OS is | certainly not Windows, and has several new concepts. I am still | floundering to a grate degree, but am able to now read/reply to mail | in the Exchange account, am able to read Mac online help, move files | around on the hard disk, and have changed a few preferences. | | I am still waiting to be able to connect to our network folders, (I | am able to connect to our NAS, but cannot connect to our domain or | our W2k3 server). | | One thing this Mac is the one with the CD and DVD burner installed, | as I wanted to see how easy it is to get running. It also comes with | a bluetooth and wireless card installed, which I got partially | working last night to provide wireless Internet access. This is | quite amazing that you get all this in such a small package. | | Hope this information is helpful. | Andrew. | ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
