Am I also right in thinking that if you play an mp3 file on an apple ipod,
you use more battery power. If you convert it to aac, a smaller file, it
uses lesss power playing it so your battery will last longer before another
charge.

Yes the iPod will play MP3, but iTunes can convert files into that format as well if you want it to.

Hi, the Ipod can also play Mp3 so you don't have to change the mp3 to AAC. But if you do want to for reasons of size (AAC's are smaller) Itunes will do it I think.
