Hi Everyone
Apologies for the cross-posting, and for the length of this message. I
have asked a similar question on the Eyes-Free list but have had no
meaningful replies.
I bought a Moto G phone last year, but only put a SIM card into it a few
weeks ago. It had never occurred to me that using my phone as a phone
would pose so many problems.
I have had difficulty dialling, which I have solved by getting the Voice
Search to work.
I have difficulty answering calls. I know what I have to do, but often
once I have performed the gestures a few times I have lost the call. I
have tried loading various apps to make it easier with no success.
Now, what do people do when they need to press the dial keys to access
menus on a call? When I make a call the screen appears to go blank and
Talkback does not speak the Dialpad button to get the numbers back. By
the time I have got the Dialpad back and tried to dial the option either
I have lost the will to live or the recorded message at the other end
has gone away in a sulk.
Have I possibly got the wrong phone? Are some phones more responsive
than others? How can one find out?
Is there any likelihood of a smartphone with buttons coming out in the
near future? I tried the LG Wine but I think it was faulty, a problem
which was compounded by Talkback, although I believe that bug has been
fixed.
Now, I am going to make a call on my Nokia C5.
