Hi Ibrahim -

Many thanks, this really helps. I was certainly struggling to find the end call button, because of VO dropping in volume. It was ok on a proper call, because the other person called off, so I could hear to find the end call button, but when stuck in a call queue, listening to music, and I wanted to hang up, I could barely hear VO above the music. Carol's suggestion to turn up the VO volume to full before I make the call looks like it might help, but this dropping off of the VO volume is still an issue for some reason, and in other applications too, such as when using the onscreen mic to speak a contacts name, as soon as I speak in to the phone, VO volume drops [I still get the name I want in the edit field, but I have to swipe left and right to go out of the field, before I am able to raise the volume again.

Bit irritating, and would love to be able to fix this -

Andy

Hi Andy.

When you move your phone away from your ear, the proximity sensor detects this and automatically switches the call to speakerphone. You can answer and end calls using the two finger double tap gesture anywhere on the screen whether you are in the phone app or not.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Hi Trace -

I went in to my Apple store and bought it over the counter.

There is an onscreen button to end a call, bottom left of the screen I
believe. I'm still playing with the phone app, and haven't quite got it
mastered yet. Haven't found the definitive way of switching between loud
speaker and ear piece; pressing the home button on the call seems to bring
the loud speaker in, but doesn't switch back to ear piece, but if I touch
the volume button sometimes it seems to go back from speaker to ear piece,
but that might also be because I've touched something on the screen. Don't
know if it's possible to mute a call etc -

Hi Jackie -

Well yes, I have taken the plunge and got the iPhone 5. Have to say I love the phone, and find Siri to be very accurate. This is pleasing as I have heard many say it is pretty inaccurate.

Haven't found a way to stop the Voice Over volume dropping though, when on a call, or using Siri. Maybe if I turn off the clicks in sounds it will work better, will have to try it and see -

Hi Andy

Personally I hate iTunes with a passion. It is just a pest, and I would rather just have a drive letter appear and create my own folders within it. They have changed it on the Mac, and lots of people on the Apple list are not happy bunnies. Personally I don't think it is any more difficult to use it than it was before, but still don't like it! (smile). If you go for an
iPhone and run into problems, I am sure we will all try to help get you
through it.

Kind Regards,

Jackie Cairns

Ah Jackie - Dear old iTunes. A bit of a challenge, but I've persevered with it. Still need help at times, but can do most things, or have been able to
so far with the Touch, may need more help when it comes to the phone -

Hi Andy

The Galaxy Mini sounds like a smaller tablet, but I could be wrong.

The one thing that does appeal to me about the Android setup is that you
can
connect the tablet, and presumably the phone, to a PC and copy your music
on
the drive letter that comes up. You can't do that with Apple, it has to
be
through iTunes! Enough said.

Jackie Cairns

Hi Jackie -

It appears to me if I've researched it correctly, that there are 2 makes
of
Nexus, the Asus Google nexus, and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. I think it is
the Galaxy 7 that is the Tablet, but I may still be mixed up! And then
there
is the Galaxy mini, to confuse me even further. Think I'm glad to have
finally decided on the iPhone. I like to keep it simple where I can

Hi Mo and Andy

I too am happy to be corrected here, but doesn't some of this relate to phones as opposed to tablets? Isn't the Galaxy a phone, and the Nexus a
tablet? I agree it is very confusing Andy.

Jackie Cairns

Hi Andy.

I'm happy to stand corrected, but co-insidence i'd say. they're different
devices with similar names, 1 runs google's stock software and the
samsung
runs samsung modified software.

Sorry all, but still doing my research, and still confused, a bit.

I searched for Nexus, and found there are Google Nexus, by Asus, and
Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Too many manufacturers/providers involved here for
me.
I mean, Is the Google Nexus made by Asus for Google? Is it a completely different beast to the Samsung Nexus? I know they both run under Android,
but why the common name of Nexus, or is that just coincidence? -
