Just to pour water on bonfires unless you are going to Sight Village...

I ordered one last week or the week before and they were out of stock. This thread has prompted me to phone RNIB customer services who were very helpful but who told me that they had a delivery yesterday. All of that delivery has been reserved for Sight Village, the next delivery of stock to RNIB is due on 21 August. So if you want to jump the queue, go to Sight Village and you'll get one ahead of those folks who ordered one before you.

Must say, I can understand RNIB not wanting to be stood at a stand demonstrating something they can't sell because they have all been sold, but it's a tad unfair on folks who have ordered one already based on the article in the New Product Guide, particularly with the long delay before the next batch of stock is in.

All the best,
Barry G

Hi,
Just to clarify, the labels are not designed to be peeled off items and re-applied to other items. You can re-record (the old recording is automatically deleted from the pen) and you can save on labels with a bit of creativity. So, the example on YouTube; if you regularly purchase the same product in a jar, you can just replace the lid with the label. For freezer items, you could apply labels to those big pegs you can buy so your peas don't go everywhere, that way you can reuse the label on the peg.

We've worked hard to keep the product and the label costs down. A set of 380 labels will cost £9.99. The first pack will have three different types: small round, large round and large square labels. Once the product is on sale, we'll be seeking feedback on customer preference. Are the different shapes useful, are different colours of interest to some customers, etc. We're also trialling some laundry labels at the moment.

Thanks
Alison

Hi,

I thought I'd mention too that the lables for the penfriend are so
cheap and affordable that you can easily dispose of them should you
really have to throw packaging etc. We will be offering 2 extra
packages
of lables and more packages will follow in the coming months.

It is also important to be aware of the fantastic oppurtunity you get
when you order the penfriend our volenteers will be trained to help
you
to carry out labling tasks.

Best wishes, madleen
